AfD WINS HISTORIC VICTORY IN SAXONY-ANHALT STATE ELECTION LONDON — September 6, 2026 | GPC.NEWS OPEC+ agreed Sunday to keep its oil production policy unchanged for October, as the producer alliance faces continued disruption to Middle Eastern energy supplies and uncertainty surrounding exports through the Strait of Hormuz. The decision was taken by seven core members — Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan and Oman. The group completed another stage of its planned rollback of earlier production cuts with its September supply increase, but further changes now depend heavily on negotiations over future production quotas. The continuing Iran conflict has complicated OPEC+'s ability to influence the physical oil market. Although production targets can be adjusted, disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz mean that available crude cannot necessarily reach international buyers as planned. Oil markets have remained under pressure from the renewed U.S.–Iran confrontation. Brent crude ended Friday at $96.28 a barrel after gaining 7.6% during the week, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate rose nearly 10% over the same period. Attention within OPEC+ is increasingly shifting toward determining production capacity and new output baselines for 2027.
